Vendor Spotlight: Dan Rodricks

Dan RodricksDan Rodricks is an award-winning columnist for the Baltimore Sun who has been writing commentary on local, regional and national news since 1979. He has also been a familiar voice on Baltimore radio and television. His book, published in 2019 by Apprentice House, is Father’s Day Creek: Fly Fishing, Fatherhood and the Last Best Place on Earth. In this memoir, Dan describes his “spirit home,” his outdoor sanctuary — a trout stream in Pennsylvania that serves as backdrop for reflections on fishing, friendships, and fatherhood. The book, with a foreword by the late fly fishing legend Lefty Kreh, was selected by TROUT as one of the magazine’s favorite books of 2019.

Dan won a national broadcasting award for a radio documentary about his home waters, the Gunpowder River, north of Baltimore. He has fished extensively in Western Maryland and Pennsylvania, and in the Chesapeake Bay.

Dan has just been added to our Speaker Series (12:00 pm) so buy his book at the Show or bring your copy for him to sign…

I got Dan’s book last fall and thoroughly enjoyed all the stories. I recommend to purchase at the show and have Dan autograph it.
